Outdoor Fall Family Photos
This week flew by in a whirlwind.
The kind of fast where you know you’re supposed to pause and feel thankful, but you’re too busy juggling a hundred things to even catch your breath.
Then yesterday things got quiet, everyone’s bellies were full, and the gratitude finally landed. Soft, heavy, and real.
I sat there watching my own kids play with their cousins, and I thought about how fast it’s all going. These wild, tender years when my kids still reach for my hand without thinking and still want to snuggle when its been a tough day.
And then back at my desk today I thought about all of you, the beautiful families I get to photograph, the ones who let me into their real yet magical lives year after year. Watching your babies turn into big kids, your love stretch and deepen, your arms still finding each other like it’s the most natural thing in the world… it hits me every single time.
Even on the weeks that feel like a blur.
Even when I’m running on energy drinks and chaos.
When the noise fades and I look through the photos (your photos, my photos, our photos), I see it so clearly: we’re all just trying to freeze time a little. To hold on to the sticky hugs, the belly laughs, the ordinary days that turn out to be everything.
I’m so grateful I get to help you keep these days.
And I’m even more grateful that, because of this job, I never take my own for granted.
